Government Associations Code: TN-2500 Associations whose members are representatives of government at all levels who have affiliated for the purpose of working together to discuss, study and resolve the problems they have in common and promote the general welfare of the jurisdictions they represent. Government associations provide advocacy, training, publications, research and other services for their members; offer a forum for discussion and problem-solving; enable members to speak with a single voice on local, regional, state or national policy; alert members to emerging social, economic and political trends; promote leadership; share innovations and best practices; provide management and technical assistance services; offer cost savings through aggregated purchases of insurance, energy or other resources; and provide other forms of support that meet the needs of their members.
