Cremation Services Code: PB-5000.1550 Programs that reduce the bodies of deceased individuals to fine bone fragments (ashes) by exposing them to intense heat and flame. An individual's remains may be cremated immediately after death (direct cremation) or following formal viewing, visitation and/or a formal ceremony; and the cremated remains can be buried, entombed, scattered or kept for placement by the family in an urn or other appropriate container.
