Kendall County PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) provides free safe shelter, food, and hospitality to people who need temporary help. It operates from mid-October through mid-April with shelter provided by churches. Each PADS location provides its guests a safe shelter for the night, a place to clean up, a sleeping pad with sheets, blanket and pillow, a hot evening meal, a light breakfast, and a sack lunch the next day. Services provided in English and in Spanish with an interpreter when requested.

Services provided 7:00 pm-7:00 am daily mid-October though mid-April.

Intake Process:

Call 24/7 message for information on times, location and addresses of shelter. After 10:00 pm guests need to be accompanied to the shelter site by any local police or sheriff's officers. Call 911 for assistance.

Program Fees:



English, interpretation services in Spanish available upon request.


Open to homeless individuals with a Personal ID. If under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an adult.
