A Guide to Services in Kane County

Full Resource Name:

Forest Preserve District of Kane County

1996 South Kirk Road
Suite 320
Geneva, IL 60134

(630) 232-5980

The primary purpose of the Forest Preserve District is to protect plant and animal life so that present and future generations can enjoy their wonders. The District manages areas for picnicking, hiking, fishing, boating and camping, with portions of the lands deliberately left as primitive as possible. The District also promotes the involvement of the community to help protect the many species of trees, shrubs, flowers, birds and animals which are rapidly becoming extinct in Kane County. A system of bicycle trails runs north and south along the Fox River and east and west to DuPage and DeKalb counties. Brochures describing the trails may be obtained from the Forest Preserve Office or visit web site.
