Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Services, Elgin offers Outpatient, Inpatient and Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, and Individual, Family and Group Counseling, and is a site for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings. Outpatient/Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Services helps those with substance abuse problems obtain and maintain sobriety. Inpatient and Residential Substance Abuse Treatment is for men with addictions. The inpatient program is 28 days long and is for those 18 and older. A men's halfway house is available with a minimum 3 month stay and no maximum. Residents are expected to work, pay a monthly fee, and attend group sessions. Additional substance abuse programs exist in Arlington Heights, Dixon, Chicago and Sterling, IL, including a Detox Center in Kenmore.
