Hope Haven of DeKalb County provides programing to DeKalb County residents. Emergency Shelter is for families, single men, and single women for up to 90 days. Residents of other counties may be eligible for emergency shelter for up to 48 hours. A Day Treatment/Life Skills program is offered to anyone in the community needing life skills support. An intake interview and police check regarding outstanding warrants is required. (If a person has an outstanding warrant, the police will be contacted). On site educational classes may be mandated if a resident has no high school diploma. Hope Haven also provides screening and support services to chronically homeless adults with disabilities who are housed in the Dresser Court apartments. Single people program available. Some Spanish is spoken.

Shelter access is 24 Hours 7 Days. Life Skills program: 9:00 am-3:00 pm Monday-Friday.

Intake Process:

Interview and police check required.

Program Fees:

No fees for shelter. Some fees required for single room occupancy living program, typically 30% of income. Lack of income is not a barrier to the program.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old if they seek emergency shelter and all applicants must be residents of DeKalb County for at least 12 months. They must be able to provide a picture ID as proof of residency and must have no outstanding warrants.
