McHenry County PADS provides emergency shelter in churches from October 1-April 30 for homeless adults and parents with children. PADS provides a warm meal in the evening and a breakfast in the morning. A limited number of sleeping rooms are available year round for qualified individuals and families. The Day Center Program provides Case Management, Mental Health and Vocational Counseling and various group services. McHenry County residents can receive prescription, gas or transportation assistance also if qualified. There is a van transportation program available to supplement public transportation. Long-term transitional shelter is available for qualified individuals and families. Sex offenders and violence against youth predators listed in the registry are not accepted. Program for youth beds ages 18 to 25 years available.

Case Manager's office and Day Center, 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Please call for list of shelter sites. Walk in hours until 2:30 .PM. Need photo ID.

Program Fees:





Must be a resident of McHenry County for at least 30 days. Some programs require ID, utility bill, or information release to another agency for services.
