Description:

Suicide Prevention Services works to reduce and eliminate suicide and suicide attempts through a variety of services: Hotline and talk lines for those dealing with suicidal thoughts and their family members and friends Individual and family counseling is provided to those suffering from depression or dealing with a suicide. Low cost Depression Screening; Survivors of Suicide (SOS) self help support group meets monthly for anyone who has lost a family member or close friend to suicide. Outreach teams work with a family in their home after a suicide. An Attempters group meets twice a month at Batavia office. Workshops on suicide prevention and depression is offered to schools, churches, social service agencies, etc. Support and consultation services are available. Services available in Spanish by appointment.

Hours:

Office: 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday; some evenings and weekends. Group times vary.

Intake Process:

Call or meet with a counselor to enroll in the groups. On-going depression screenings by appointment. Call Administration number to request services and discuss needs.

Program Fees:

Sliding Scale for counseling; Groups are free. Most insurances are accepted.

Languages:

English; Spanish counseling available by appointment.

Eligibility:

Anyone needing to deal with suicide - from thinking about it to needing grief counseling or a support group.
