Catholic Charities provides services for individuals in need from Aurora and Elgin. Services include a Pregnancy Crisis Program which provides counseling for women to help them deal with emotional and social stress related to their pregnancies, as well as counseling for the father and his family. For those who keep their child, follow-up monitoring of the home is provided to assess for stability. For those choosing adoption, adoptions are arranged. Catholic Charities is licensed to handle adoptions of healthy infants, both interstate and international adoptions. Community outreach program is available to help individuals with limited assistance for utility bills (electric, gas, water) and rent. A bilingual worker provides outreach to the Hispanic community. Workers arrange with individuals not living in the Aurora area to meet in convenient locations. (Some service in Spanish available.)
