Journeys The Road Home assists men, women, and families in Northwest Cook County who have become or are at risk of becoming homeless. The PADS program provides 19 shelters from October 1 to April 30 in suburbs from Elk Grove Village to Barrington. The HOPE Center offers guests/clients mental health support, job counseling and referrals, and help in securing a permanent residence. Journeys’ supportive living program offers affordable temporary housing and consistent therapeutic support. Limited Spanish and Sign Language available.

PADS Shelter: 7:00 pm-7:00 am daily; Day Center: 9:00 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday

Hope Center 7:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Intake Process:

Guests to PADS are welcomed if no outstanding warrants exist. Guests are then registerd in the Day Center and need photo identification showing most recent residency.

English, limited Spanish, Sign Language


Residents of North and Northwest Cook County; to be eligible for services guests have to show that their last permanent residence was in this area.
