Mutual Ground, Inc. is a non-profit social service agency serving victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in southern Kane County including all of Aurora and in Kendall County. The Batavia satellite location requires an appointment through the main office in Aurora. The Batavia location services the Batavia area and surrounding communities. Services for victims include: medical advocacy at the hospital emergency room and legal advocacy; individual and group counseling; prevention programs in elementary, middle and high schools; information and referral, and 24 hour hotlines. Mutual Ground runs an emergency shelter for abused women and their dependent children (boys up to age 17). Transitional shelter is available for up to six months to residents who have completed a successful emergency shelter stay. Mutual Ground also offers domestic violence support groups which include a Spanish facilitated group. There is a specialized program for children and adolescents who are victims of sexual abuse/assault. There are also counseling/support groups for rape and incest survivors and significant others. Mutual Ground provides professional and educational trainings. All services are confidential. Mutual Ground is a member program of the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Spanish is spoken.
