Access to Care is a primary health care program serving low-income uninsured individuals in suburban Cook County, including the portion of Elgin in Cook County. Access to Care contracts with local doctors to provide primary health care, and also can provide related pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services. The program is designed to serve individuals who are uninsured for medical care and who are not eligible for public health insurance programs and who are legal residents or citizens. There are some limits on what the doctors can provide - please call for details. Spanish is spoken at some sites.

Intake Process:

Call for appointment. The application can be printed off the website and mailed in. Please call to determine if you qualify.

Program Fees:

Non-refundable annual enrollment fee. See website or call for information on co-pays and other discounted fees.


English and Spanish at some sites


Residents of suburban Cook County who are ineligible for any public health insurance and have no private insurance or a high deductible. There are some financial restrictions on eligibility. Must also be a legal resident or US citizen. Not available to Kane County residents.
