The American Association of University Women's mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. The Elgin AAUW Branch holds monthly general meetings with programs on a variety of topics of interest. Small interest groups meet monthly, including: several book groups, a craft group, bridge, 2 movie discussion groups, a theater group, and 2 memoir writing groups. Branch Projects include: STEM projects encouraging young girls to become involved in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Community activities include: bi-annual Garden Walk, Annual Garage Sale, Women’s History Month Brunch, sponsorship of a local scholarship to be used to meet undergraduate college expenses.

Program Fees:

Annual dues, $82. Student affiliation dues $27.




Membership is open to all graduates (women and men) having associate or baccalaureate degrees from accredited colleges and universities. An undergraduate enrolled in a regionally accredited educational institution shall be eligible for student affiliation.
